Gore Gets No Help (Again)

The Nats limped into the midpoint of the season as they were shutout 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon in  San Diego. Mark (From Petco Park) & Al have another hard luck MacKenzie Gore loss to recap as the offense yet again let down their lefty Ace. The bats have only mustered ten runs in the past seven Gore starts. Gore struck out six Padres and still leads the NL in strikeouts.

(13:30) Former Nationals prospect Nick Pivetta struck out ten Nats in seven innings of work. Pivetta was traded to Philadelphia in the infamous 2015 Jonathan Papelbon trade.

(19:30) This contest was the end of a brutal stretch for the Nats as they had to play 16 games in as many days, with cross country travel in between. Washington really struggled these past few weeks and went 3-13.

(24:20) Josh Whetzel's weekly update from AAA-Rochester.  Hear the latest from Derek Law's rehab stint, Cade Cavalli latest outing, and more.
