Game 148: SEPTEMBER SWOON CONTinues

The Nats lost 5-3 in Milwaukee on Friday night as they are now just 3-10 in September. Mark (From Wisconsin) & Al point out how the beleaguered lineup mightily struggled despite scoring 3 immediate runs off of Wade Miley. There was some brief confusion during a Miley vs. Lane Thomas at bat regarding pitch clock rules and Mark explains what the fuss was all about.

(16:30) Thomas hit his 25th of the year and this includes not having any in April. The last time that a National hit 30+ homers in a season came in 2019, when Anthony Rendon & Juan Soto each crossed the benchmark.

(22:00) Jake Irvin's gave up back to back HRs to the final batters that he faced and was removed in the bottom of the 5th. Irvin did not allow a run until that frame, but did issue 5 walks along the way.

(29:45) There is a chance that Tanner Rainey could join Washington before the end of the season as he has made a dozen rehab appearances since returning from Tommy John surgery. The final game for AAA- Rochester is on September 24th.
