Game 93: More Rain and Injuries

The Nats lost the series rubber match on Sunday 8-4 in St. Louis as there was a rain delay for the third consecutive day. Al & Mark (Live from Busch Stadium) begin with the pair of crucial injuries that the team is currently dealing with for closer Hunter Harvey and Jeimer Candelario. Harvey's velocity was down and Saturday and this led to him being scheduled for a MRI back in D.C. Candelario tried pregame to be able to play despite his bone bruise, but instead Ildemaro Vargas played again at 3B. The timing of these injuries are also relevant as the MLB Tradeline is around the corner (August 1st).

(18:45) More bad pitching for the Nationals as Josiah Gray allowed 10 hits and the taxed bullpen didn't do much better. Josiah Gray might have had a sterling All Star debut, but that momentum did not carry over on Sunday.

(26:00) CJ Abrams tripled and doubled on Sunday and collected six hits in the weekend series. His OPS is at .719 for the month and has a batting average in July at .395.

(36:00) The road trip moves to Wrigley Field for three straight evenings with MacKenzie Gore taking the mound on Monday night.
